Nerlens Noel Returns to the New York Knicks on a Three-Year Deal

Former Kentucky Wildcats Center Signs with Knicks

Noel is a Three-Time NBA Champion and Top High School Recruit

Nerlens Noel has signed a three-year deal to return to the New York Knicks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Noel, a three-time NBA champion and former Kentucky Wildcats center, was one of the most sought-after free agents on the market this summer.

Noel was a member of the Jordan Brand Classic East squad and was one of four finalists for the 2012 Naismith High School Boys Player of the Year. He was also a consensus five-star recruit and the No. 1 overall prospect in his class.

Noel played one season at Kentucky before being drafted sixth overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2013 NBA Draft. He has since played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Detroit Pistons.

In 24 games with the Pistons last season, Noel averaged 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.

The Knicks are hoping that Noel can provide them with some much-needed depth in the frontcourt. The team lost Taj Gibson and Nerlens Noel in free agency this summer, and they are also without Mitchell Robinson, who is recovering from a foot injury.

Noel is a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions. He is also a good rebounder and passer. He should be a valuable addition to the Knicks' rotation.
