Panthers Draft Another Linebacker
The Charlotte Panthers have rounded out their 2024 NFL Draft class with the selection of another linebacker. The Panthers used their seventh-round pick (No. 244 overall) on West Virginia's Jasir Cox. Cox is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound inside linebacker who is known for his athleticism and tackling ability.
The addition of Cox gives the Panthers some much-needed depth at the linebacker position. The Panthers lost several linebackers to free agency this offseason, including Shaq Thompson and Jermaine Carter. Cox is expected to compete for a starting role in training camp.

In other local news, the Charlotte City Council has approved a $20 million plan to renovate the city's convention center. The renovation is expected to be completed by 2026 and will include new meeting rooms, a larger ballroom, and a new rooftop terrace.
The Charlotte Hornets have signed free agent guard Terry Rozier to a three-year, $58 million contract. Rozier is a former All-Star who is known for his scoring and playmaking ability. The Hornets are hoping that Rozier can help them make a playoff run next season.
