Brody Malones Long Road Back From Injury

Brody Malone's Long Road Back From Injury

From devastating injury to Olympic glory

After a disappointing finish on the high bar at the Tokyo Olympics and a devastating knee injury last March that could have ended his gymnastics career, Brody Malone is back and better than ever.

The 23-year-old is atop the leaderboard halfway through the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Tampa, Florida, and is looking to add to his three national titles.

Malone suffered a torn meniscus, tibial plateau fracture, and partially torn posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee when he fell on his dismount at the DTB Cup in Germany in March 2023.

The injury required surgery and months of rehabilitation, but Malone never gave up on his dream of returning to the top of the sport.

"It was a long road back, but I'm so grateful to be back competing," Malone said. "I'm taking it one day at a time, but I'm confident that I can get back to where I was before the injury."

Malone's return to form is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and it is sure to inspire other athletes who have suffered serious injuries.
